Tropical Andaman 5N/6D — 5 Nights / 6 Days
A 5 nights 6 days Andaman trip that trades the usual circuit for two nights on offbeat Long Island, then Havelock for Radhanagar and Elephant Beach, based out of Port Blair.
About this itinerary
Most Andaman trips never reach Long Island. This one makes it the centre. Two nights on a quiet Middle Andaman island, with a boat trip to near-empty beaches, then a swing south to Havelock for the beaches that made the islands famous.
Day 1 covers Port Blair and the Cellular Jail. Day 2 crosses to Long Island by government ferry. Day 3 is a boat trip to Lalaji Bay, Mark Bay and Guitar Island. Day 4 moves to Havelock for Radhanagar Beach, and Day 5 adds Elephant Beach snorkelling before the catamaran back to Port Blair. It suits travellers who want the beaches without the crowds and do not mind government ferries and simple island stays.

Arrival in Port Blair and the Cellular Jail
Arrive at Veer Savarkar Airport, Port Blair. Our representative meets you outside with a name placard, helps with your luggage and transfers you to your hotel to settle in.
After some rest, head to the Cellular Jail, the colonial prison and national memorial where freedom fighters were held in solitary confinement. Walk through the cell blocks, the museum and the photo gallery. Stay on for evening tea with a sea view and the sunset from the jail premises, then watch the open-air Light and Sound show that narrates the site's history.

Port Blair to Long Island
After breakfast, transfer to the jetty for the government ferry to Long Island, a small island in Middle Andaman that most itineraries skip. The crossing passes smaller islands along the way.
On arrival, check in and explore the island on foot: its single main path, the jetty and the village. Long Island is calm and undeveloped, and the pace here is slow by design. Settle in for two unhurried nights.

Lalaji Bay, Mark Bay Beach and Guitar Island by boat
Spend the day on the water. A private boat runs from Long Island to Lalaji Bay, a C-shaped beach backed by forest and good for a long swim, then to Mark Bay Beach for its soft sand and clear shallows, and on to Guitar Island.
These beaches have no shacks, no vendors and often no one else, so pack water and a snack and plan around the boat. Return to your Long Island hotel for the night.

In the afternoon, visit Radhanagar Beach (Beach No. 7), rated Asia's best beach by Time magazine in 2004. Watch the sunset over the powder-white sand. A complimentary beach photoshoot by our team is included.

Before you travel
- Day 1 stays in Port Blair, so a morning or early afternoon landing works. Days 2, 4 and 5 involve ferries whose timings are fixed by the operators and confirmed with you in advance. The government ferries to and from Long Island run on limited daily schedules, so the days are planned around them.
- Ferry tickets are included and held on booking confirmation: the government ferries to Long Island and on to Havelock, and the private catamaran from Havelock to Port Blair. The government ferries to and from Long Island are allotted by the administration close to the sailing date, so a seat on a specific day cannot be guaranteed at the time of booking.
- Long Island is remote, with only a handful of guesthouses and eco resorts, patchy mobile network and no ATMs. Carry enough cash for the two nights there, as card and online payments are not available.
- The Cellular Jail and its museum are closed on Mondays and national holidays, with a lunch break from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. The Light and Sound show runs in English on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at about 6:50 PM and in Hindi on other nights from about 5:50 PM. Non-professional camera charges are about Rs 200 per camera.
- Breakfast is included daily, with lunch on Day 1. Any meal not listed for a day is payable directly.
- The Long Island boat trip to Lalaji Bay, Mark Bay and Guitar Island are subject to weather, sea conditions and government clearance.
- There is no refund for the complimentary snorkelling if it cannot run because of weather or government guidelines, as it cannot be moved to another location or exchanged.
- Water sports beyond the included snorkelling are paid directly at Elephant Beach or can be taken as add ons.
- Carry cash, as card and online payments are often unavailable. Ferry class upgrades are payable directly.

Questions about this package
