North Andaman Adventure 7N/8D — 7 Nights / 8 Days
A 7 nights 8 days North Andaman adventure through Long Island and Diglipur, taking in Lalaji Bay, Mark Bay and Guitar islands, the Twin Islands, Kalipur Beach, the Saddle Peak trek and Lamiya Bay.
About this itinerary
This is a North Andaman trip for travellers who want the offbeat islands and a proper trek. After Port Blair and the Cellular Jail, you head north to Long Island for its untouched bays and a boat run to Guitar Island, then on to Diglipur for three nights.
Diglipur brings the Twin Islands of Ross and Smith, the turtle beach at Kalipur, and the Saddle Peak trek to the highest point in the Andamans. Expect long overland and ferry travel days in return for islands few visitors reach.

Before you travel
- Day 1 stays in Port Blair, so a morning or early afternoon landing works best. Standard hotel check-in in Port Blair is from about 2 PM, with earlier check-in subject to availability.
- The Rangat (Yerrata Jetty) to Long Island crossing is by government ferry, both on the way out and on the return, with timings confirmed with you in advance. The rest of the route is by private road transfer.
- The Cellular Jail and its museum are closed on Mondays and national holidays, with a lunch break from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. The Light and Sound show runs in Hindi from about 5:50 PM and in English at about 6:50 PM. Non-professional camera charges are about Rs 200 per camera and professional cameras about Rs 1000.
- The route through the Jarawa Tribal Reserve runs in a scheduled convoy that starts early. Photographing or interacting with members of the tribe is prohibited.
- The Port Blair to Long Island and Long Island to Diglipur days are long, mixing road transfer and government ferry, so they start very early. Carry water and snacks as there are few places to eat on the way.
- Kalipur Beach is an undeveloped turtle-nesting site with no commercial facilities. The nesting season runs roughly October to March.
- The Ross and Smith islands have no shops, cafes or lifeguards, only basic changing huts. Attempt snorkelling only if you are a confident swimmer.
- Guitar Island is reachable only at low tide, and all boat rides here depend on weather and government clearance.
- The Saddle Peak trek is about 16 km round trip and takes 5 to 7 hours. Do the full climb only if your fitness allows, or take a shorter forest walk instead.
- Breakfast is included from day 2. Any meal not listed for a day is payable directly.
- Water sports beyond the included snorkelling are paid directly at the site. Carry cash, as card and online payments are often unavailable.
