About this itinerary

Not every Andaman trip needs a two-hour catamaran ride. This one stays in Port Blair and reaches Ross Island and North Bay by the short harbour ferry, so you unpack once and skip the long crossings.

Day 1 covers the Cellular Jail and its evening Light and Sound show, with time in Aberdeen Bazaar. Day 2 is a boat day to Ross Island and North Bay for ruins, wildlife and water sports. Day 3 is an easy airport transfer. It suits first-timers who want the capital's highlights at a gentle pace.

  3. Day 3Departure

    Departure from Port Blair

After breakfast and check-out, transfer to Veer Savarkar Airport for your departure flight, closing your Port Blair trip.

Is 2 nights in Port Blair worth it without Havelock?

Yes, if you want history and easy days over famous beaches. You get the Cellular Jail, Ross Island and North Bay without a long ferry. For Radhanagar Beach you would need Havelock and more nights.

How do we reach Ross Island and North Bay?

By government harbour ferry from Phoenix Bay. Ross is about 15 minutes away and North Bay a further 30 minutes, usually done on the same morning circuit.

Is the Cellular Jail open every day?

No. It is closed on Mondays and national holidays and shuts for lunch from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. The Light and Sound show has fixed Hindi and English timings in the evening.

What does North Bay cost extra?

Water sports at North Bay are payable directly: scuba, snorkelling, sea walk, glass-bottom boat and parasailing. Locker and refreshment charges are also paid on the island.

Why is Ross Island closed on Wednesdays?

Ross Island follows a weekly closure on Wednesdays. If your Day 2 is a Wednesday, we adjust the plan so you do not miss it.

What is the best time to visit Port Blair?

October to May for calm seas and clear skies. June to September brings monsoon weather that can affect the harbour ferries to Ross and North Bay.
