Detailed Itinerary(8 Nights and 9 Days)

3 Nights Port Blair (Sri Vijaya Puram) — 2 Nights Diglipur — 2 Nights Havelock Island (Swaraj Dweep) — 1 Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep)

Airport Pickup: Welcome to Port Blair (Sri Vijaya Puram). Arrive at Veer Savarkar Airport where our tour coordinator will greet you and escort you to the hotel. The estimated transfer time from the airport to the hotel is less than half hour. 

Afternoon (2 PM – 3 PM): Check in at the hotel and head to your room where you will rest and relax until your next pick up ride. 

Late Afternoon (4 PM): Visit Cellular Jail (Kala Paani) and learn about the history of British colonialism on Andaman Island. This jail was used as a prison to capture convicts who were subject to solitary confinement and merciless treatment. The monument features a museum, a library, a photo gallery as well. 

Light & Sound Show: Watch an open-air Light & Sound show which will provide more insights and historical context related to this monument. The total run time for Light & Sound Show is for 45 minutes.

• Cellular Jail is closed on Mondays and national holidays. 
• Closed for Lunch Break: 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM.
• Light & Sound Show Timings: 5:50 PM (Hindi) & 6:50 PM (English)

Overnight stay in Port Blair: After the Light Sound Show, you will be dropped off at your hotel.

Early Morning (4:00 – 5:00 AM): Explore the offbeat locations such as Diglipur and Baratang today. Since you will be covering a long distance from South to North Andamans, an early start is crucial. Our tour coordinator will pick you up from the hotel so stay ready.

Things to Know: 

1. The first stopover will be at  Barantang Island, which is approximately 100 kms from Port Blair. The transfer time varies from 4 hours 45 minutes to 5 hours.
2. Continuing our journey from Baratang Island, we will reach Diglipur Island, which is 8 to 9 hours. 
3. Carry some snacks and drinks for your journey. 

Towards Baratang Island: Your journey towards Baratang Island will begin from Jirkatang Check Post. Steadily, our convoy will cross the thick jungles and Jarawa Tribal Reserve. (Please note that photography is not allowed while passing through the trivial reserve).

At Baratang Jetty: You will reach Baratang Jetty and from here you will take a boat ride which will pass through the mangrove creek. Get to the trekking point and after crossing through the jungle you will reach Limestone Caves. After cave explorations, resume your journey to Diglipur Island. 

The estimated travel time from Baratang Island to Diglipur Island is 8 to 9 hours. 

Arrive at Hotel: Our tour coordinator will drop you at the hotel in Diglipur. Head to the reception area and complete your check in process. By the time you reach the hotel, it will already be late evening. Therefore, get to your room, have a meal and retire for the night. 

Overnight stay in Diglipur Island

Morning: On day 4 of Offbeat Andanman tour, you will explore  (Ross & Smith Island excursion). Get ready for a car transfer to Aerial Bay (9 Km from Diglipur Island), but before that make sure to have breakfast at the hotel. 

At Aerial Bay: Get on a boat and proceed towards Ross & Smith Island which is 20 kms from Diglipur. The estimated transfer time to reach the Twin Islands is  35-40 minutes. 

At Ross & Smith Islands: These two beautiful islands are connected with a sliver of sandbar. They both feature ivory beaches, turquoise waters and incredible serenity. It’s a great attraction for anyone seeking calm without the tourists’ hustle and bustle. 

The only time you can walk on the connecting sandbar is during the low tide. The underwater marine life around these islands are breathtaking. Sunbathing, swimming/snorkelling (in the shallow sections), and beach walks, and photography are top activities at the beach. 

Note: 

1. If you plan to snorkel, carry your own gear. There aren’t any commercial stores or vendors on Ross & Smith Islands. 
2. If you don’t feel confident about swimming or snorkelling without a guide or an instructor, please avoid it.
3. There aren’t any restaurants, cafes or beach shacks on the Islands, so carry your own refreshments. 
4. A few bamboo huts and changing rooms are available for visitors on the beaches of Ross & Smith Island.

Kalipur Beach (3 PM): Head to Kalipur beach, known for its ash-hued sand, lush tropical beauty, and shimmering shores. Go for a beach walk here and during golden hours (sunset time) watch the changing colours in the sky. Kalipur Beach is also a turtle nesting site for Leatherback, Hawksbill, Green, and Olive Ridley turtles. 

Note: 

1. Kalipur Beach isn’t commercialised yet. It’s a popular nesting site for turtles. The best time for watching turtles on Kalipur Beach is from October to March.
2. Kalipur Beach is 17 km apart from Diglipur Island and estimated travel time is 40 to 50 minutes.

Evening: Head back to the resort in Diglipur, enjoy dinner and rest. 

Overnight Stay in Diglipur Island.

Meal Included: Breakfast

Morning: Enjoy breakfast at the resort/hotel in Diglipur and check out from the property. You will be going back to Port Blair and our tour coordinator will pick you up. 

Passing through Mayabunder, Rangat, Baratang Island, Jarawa Tribal Reserve, you will reach Port Blair. We will have stop-offs on our way for rest. 

Note: The estimated transfer time from Diglipur Island to Port Blair is 10 – 12 hours.

Late Evening: Arrive in Port Blair and proceed to the hotel. Overnight stay will be at the hotel. 

Meal Included: Breakfast

Morning: Relish breakfast at the hotel and thereafter receive a pick up from our tour coordinator at your hotel. Get transferred to Phoenix Bay jetty from where you will be heading to Havelok Island (Swaraj Dweep). 

At Phoenix Bay Jetty: Board a sea vessel and cruise towards Havelock Islands. The estimated transfer time from Phoenix Bay to reach Havelock Island is 1.5 to 2 hours when weather conditions are optimal. 

At Havelock Jetty: Disembark from your journey at Havelock jetty and receive a swift transfer to your hotel. Complete the check in and relax in your room.  

Late Afternoon (4:00 PM): Explore Radhanagar beach, a prime attraction in Havelock Island. Find a good spot at the beach for sunset viewing and clicking pictures. 

Things to know about Radhanagar Beach

1. Radhanagar Beach is counted among the best beaches in Asia and number 1 in India. 
2. It was named as Asia’s best beaches in 2004 by Time Magazine. 
3. Radhanagar Beach received a Blue Flag certification for cleanliness, safety, water quality and environmental sustainability. 
4. Littering on this beach is strictly prohibited.

Evening (7 – 8 PM): Relish a local dinner at a beachside cafe/restaurant while admiring the view (at your expense). 

Overnight stay in Havelock Island: Our tour coordinator will pick you up and transfer to your hotel. 

Meal Included: Breakfast

Early Morning (4:30 AM): Catch the views of sunrise on the eastern coast of Swaraj Dweep. You will be going to Kalalpathar Beach, a secluded, serene and beautiful beach of Havelock Island. Around 5 am to 5:15 am, you will see the sunrise from the horizon and cast a beautiful golden yellow glow scattering through the sunlight. 

Back to Hotel (7 AM): Return to hotel, freshen up and have your breakfast. Then get ready for a fun beach outing to Elephant beach, the best place in Havelock Island for water sports. The transfer time from Havelock Jetty to Elephant beach is 25 – 30 minutes.

At Elephant Beach: The most suitable beach, even for non-swimmers, Elephant beach is surrounded by shallow waters which are ideal for snorkeling and spotting corals and fish. With your free snorkelling session, get to spot hard and soft corals, sea cucumbers, sea anemones and reef fish (clownfish, butterflyfish, angelfish, and parrotfish). If you are really lucky, you may spot a sea turtle or a ray. 

After snorkelling, relax yourself, enjoy sunbathing. You can also go stroll on the beach and have refreshment from various food stalls

Note:

1. Complimentary activities like snorkelling cannot be transferred to another day. No refund will be provided for complimentary activities, if not availed. 
2. Additional water activities like glass bottom boat ride, parasailing, jet skiing, etc are not a part of the tour package but can be availed on a direct payment basis. 
3. Keep your personal items like wallet, phone, cash, clothes etc in a safe place like a locker (available on Elephant Beach)  

Back to Havelock Jetty: Get a boat ride back to Havelock Jetty and transfer back to your hotel. Overnight stay in Havelock Island. 

Meal Included: Breakfast

Morning: Have an early breakfast, check out from the hotel and transfer to Havelock Jetty. You will be cruising to Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep) from Havelock Island. It’s another gem of a place for beach lovers. 

Note: Havelock & Neil Island are 18 km away from each other. The time to complete this distance via cruise is  45 – 60 minutes. 

At Neil (Shaheed Dweep Jetty): Arrive at Neil Island jetty and receive a quick transfer to your pre-booked hotel/resort. Check in at the hotel and proceed to your room to take rest. 

Afternoon (3:30 – 4:00 PM): Depart for Laxmanpur Beach No 2 and watch the Natural Rock Formation (Howrah Bridge). You can spot marine life around the structure during the low tide in small ponds. It’s also called Nature’s aquarium. 

Note: 

1. The ideal time to visit Natural Rock Formation is during the low tide. During low tides, you will be able to see coral formations and other marine life like colorful fish, corals, starfishes, and crabs in the small circular ponds.  
2. The rocks can be slippery, so keep your feet firmly on the ground. 
3. Wear shoes with a strong grip, and if possible wear waterproof shoes.

Laxmanpur Beach No. 1: Move to Laxmanpur Beach no 1 and enjoy the tropical paradise that the beach is known to be. Engaging yourself in sunset viewing, photography and relaxing. There are also food stalls selling noodles, tea, pakoras  that you can enjoy.

Overnight stay in Neil Island (Shaheed Dweep): Receive a car transfer from the beach to the hotel and stay the night at the hotel. 

Meal Included: Breakfast

Morning: Breakfast at the hotel, check out and transfer to Neil Jetty. Our tour coordinator will help you board the cruise and you will depart for Port Blair. The estimated transfer time to reach Port Blair from Neil Island is 1.5 to 2 hours. 

At Phoenix Bay Jetty: Arrive at Phoenix Bay and transfer to the hotel. Proceed to your room and relax yourself. 

Late Afternoon (4:30 PM): Explore Aberdeen Bazaar, the best place for souvenir shopping in Port Blair and next you can check out Sagarika Emporium to buy seashells, jewellery, tribal handicrafts, etc.

Overnight stay in Port Blair 

Meal Included: Breakfast

Morning: Have breakfast at the hotel and check out from the property on time. Receive an airport transfer from our tour coordinator and reach Veer Savarkar airport. 

The 8 nights 9 days Offbeat Andaman tour comes to an end. Board your flight and return home.
